Dear guests, this year Ulika is celabrating the 10. birthday , and due to that, we will celabrate  this season in many ways; we are organizing a big birthday party, fish picnic once a week, and for the whole season a special istrian dinner for camping's anniversary.

 

For everybody that decides to visit us on Friday, 04.6.2010. we are organizing a big birthday party with live music, and typical istrian dinner with traditional specialities. With the  delicacies of this region, You will be entertained by well-known local band „Batana“ and  its traditional music.

 

Folk band „Batana“ is  Rovinj's  vocal-instrumental ensemble whose performances seeks to evoke a distinctive atmosphere of the Mediterranean. Established in 1992. the band made more than one thousand two hundred performances by 2007. in Croatia and abroad. The repertoire of the group consists of traditional  Dalmatian, Istrian,  international and Rovinj's native music. Among Rovinj's  songs, the ones that  particularly stands out are „bitinade“ , representing the typical characteristics of traditional musical heritage of the town of Rovinj. All band members sing and play individually the following instruments: guitar, bass guitar, two mandolins, accordion, trumpet and tambourine, and various smaller , today less present acoustic instruments. 
In year 2003. folk band „Batana“ was awarded with a Plaque of Rovinj for a special contribution to the preservation and affirmation of Rovinj's musical tradition.

Besides the birthday party , once a week we will organize a fish picnic on a  boat „Rižana“.

"Rižana" is an old boat with a long history of almost 130 years, built in Rovinj, 1881st, and it is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture. It was built in the shipyard Bennusi Brothers, where in second half of 19th century was made a several types of sailboats, including the small sailboat very well known in Istria, and one them was  „Rižana“.

Departing from the north port „Valdibora“, floating around the old town, You  will observe the magnificent panorama from this historical boat; Rovinj peninsula with its old town, and  its Mediterranean architecture , the Church of St. Eufemia, dominated by the bell tower and protector of the town - St. Eufemia.

 

 

From the sea side, You  can see on the only cca. 100 m. distance the Katarina island.

This trip offers You the chance to admire the view of Rovinj peninsula and its islands, the vegetation and breeding fish and shells in the Lim canal. Besides the trip , You will have the opportunity to taste the sample types of typical products such as brandy, wine, fresh fish, grilled meat and other snacks. There will also be some  time for sunbathing and swimming in places that normally you could not reach.
After a boat trip, You will enjoy in a traditional Istrian dinner in our restaurant Maestral.

 

 

 

In addition, throug all the season,  restaurant „Maestral“ will offer You a special  traditional Istrian dinner for  the camp's 10th anniversary.
